IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alan
Ritchie
February 23, 1970 – June 21, 2024
The conversation would easily drift from food, to sports, to politics, almost any relevant subject, as he was well versed in each topic and could share his opinions without creating anger or anxiety. He was a friend to everyone and special to each person who arrived at any even event, one on one or a roomful of people.
Alan Ritchie died last week unexpectedly from natural causes and all those who knew him grieved the loss of a very special father, son, brother, friend and fellow employee. He was a person who was at home in any group and made old friends and new acquaintances feel welcomed from the moment he met them.
Alan Ritchie had a presence larger than life. He was so aware of our world and had an educated opinion on most everything, yet there was an amazing heart beneath his sometimes tough shell. He was at his happiest when spending time with family and friends, whether watching football or engaging in a spirited debate. Alan was a proud and caring father, always finding ways to make his children part of his life. The family expresses gratitude for the love and support of Alan's many friends and his team of special coworkers at IMS Legal Strategies.
Alan grew up in Naples, Florida and graduated from Naples Senior High School. He was an accomplished athlete in two sports and achieved recognition for outstanding offensive linemen of the year in football. He continued his education at Western Carolina University and earned a degree in Business. He then moved to Pensacola and for many years was outstanding in various positions of management and sales. About 12 years ago he joined IMS Expert Services now known as IMS Legal Strategies. While his title was Lead Global Solutions Adviser, he was a self-starter and much respected by his peers for always being hard working and attentive to client needs and expectations.
Alan is survived by his mother, Esther Truitt Duncan and stepfather Ray Duncan, his father Buzz Ritchie, sisters Donna Ritchie, Rachel Duncan, and brothers Scott Ritchie, Chris Ritchie, and Steven Duncan. He was an awesome father to his son Truitt Ritchie and his daughter Allison Ritchie. An extended family included many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; all of whom loved him and adored having him at the party. Alan's greatest joy in life, in all his various interests, was being the proud father of his surviving son Truitt and his daughter Allison.
Alan was a part of his local community in so many ways. He volunteered and participated on boards of directors for many local charities. Any remembrance to Alan could be a donation to Junior Achievement of NW Florida but any contribution to a not-for-profit that supports children services in any way would make him proud and happy.
