Born April 16, 1931, in Lawrence County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Clinton and Bessie (Wolfinger) Kimmel. She met and married John Richard Kozik in 1958. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2011. She was a devoted Navy wife and mother who enjoyed traveling with her husband to various duty stations in the U.S. and abroad. Upon the retirement of her husband John; U.S. Navy Commander with 28 years of service, in 1975, they stayed in Pensacola, Florida. Marie and John began a life which included spending as much time as possible boating and fishing the waters of Pensacola Bay and the Gulf. They were together hours on the waters they both loved. She leaves behind a son John and daughter-in-law Kathryn, daughter Teresa and son-in-law Craig Hanson and four precious grandchildren, Lauren Inman, Megan Inman, Kevin Kozik, and Kara Kozik. Words cannot express the love she felt for these grandchildren. She leaves behind three brothers James, Lloyd (Louise), and George (Kay) Kimmel. She was preceded by her parents, her husband, four brothers John, Charles, Robert, Jack and her sister Genevieve Armstrong. Visitation will begin at 10:00am and conclude when the Funeral Service begins at 10:30am Saturday, September 01, 2018 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd., Pensacola, FL. Private burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
