Alma Fern Lohman, 87, a resident of Hamilton, MI and Lillian, AL passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 in Pensacola, FL. Alma was born in Holland, MI, where she graduated from Holland High School. She did various jobs, then started working at General Electric where they helped further her education at Michigan State. She became manager in the Computer Department and retired there as an executive secretary. Alma raised quarter horses for pleasure and showing. She loved painting and collecting dolls and antiques. Gardening was one of her greatest pleasures. She was active in many clubs, the Red Hatters choir, Hunt Club, Hill Toppers and Club Rotterstateretts. She enjoyed working with children and young people in the church, both in Lillian and Hamilton. Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lohman; daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Kenneth McCrory; baby girl, Aimee Jurries and grand daughter-in-law, Lauryl (Harper) Jurries. She is survived by Jay Dufer; her daughter, Sandra (son-in-law, Roger) Jurries; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and numerous brothers and sisters and their spouses in Michigan. Memorial services will be held at 2pm Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Lillian United Methodist Church, Lillian, AL. with Rev. Daniel Randall officiating. Additional services and inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Hamilton, MI at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5401 Corporate Woods Dr., #100, Pensacola, FL 32504.
