Alna Alyne Strickland Pippin, 93, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Friday, November 23, 2012 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Betty Ann and John Bracken. She was born on October 11, 1919 at Smyrna Station in Alabama to Harvey and Madie Strickland. She enjoyed a wonderful childhood growing up in Cottondale and then moving to Chipley, FL. Alna graduated from Chipley High School where she met and married her childhood sweetheart, Doyle Brown Williams. Later she moved to Pensacola and retired from Peoples Water Service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Alna loved to fish, camp and spend time with family and friends. She also loved going to Georgia to spend time with her great-grandchildren and playing Bingo. She was preceded in death by Doyle B. Williams; her parents, Harvey and Madie Strickland and her son, Terry Joe Jackson, Jr. Survivors include her loving daughter, Betty Ann Bracken (John); granddaughter, Diana Bowen (Stephen) and their daughters, Taylor and Lauren; granddaughter, Sandy Starkey (Mike) and their children, Cody, Ben and Olivia; grandson, Joe Meredith (Keri) and their children, Jessica, Ethan, and special cousins and friends. Visitation will be held 1:00pm until the Funeral Service to begin at 2:00pm Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Dr. Geoffrey Lentz and Rev. Ken Autrey officiating. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Covenant Hospice Staff and Volunteers, FUMC family and many friends and neighbors.
