Obituary

Alvin Merriwell Lewis, Jr. 1957-2011 Alvin Merriwell Lewis Jr., 53, of Pensacola, FL went to be with the Lord on September 22, 2011. He was born October 24, 1957 in Jasper, FL to Helen Farmer. He was retired from J. Ray McDermott Inc. His occupation in offshore marine construction gave him the luxury of traveling the world. He also loved camping, boating, canoeing, grilling, fishing, assisting in missionaries, Florida State Football, his family, and many friends. He was a caring, compassionate person, who greatly enjoyed spending his time helping anyone in need. Alvin was preceded in death by his biological father, Alvin Merriwell Lewis; his maternal grandmother, Quince V. Roebuck; and his maternal grandfather, Earl Roebuck. He leaves behind his lifelong love, Mary Elizabeth Lewis; two children, Alvin Myles Lewis and Tiffany Ann Dean; son-in-law, James N. Dean Jr.; his mother, Helen Farmer; step-father, Earnest Farmer; one sister, Angela Jordan; his niece, Samantha Jordan; an aunt, Peggy Goodson; four uncles, Bobby, Eddie, James, and Jimmy Roebuck, many cousins, and his dearest grandson, Ryan Nole Lewis. He also leaves behind his loyal Yorkshire of 18 years, Ralph, along with many other family members and close friends. Alvins memories will always be cherished; he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. We loved him tremendously. A Memorial Service held at 2 PM Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Boulevard, Pensacola, FL 32504. Come with your favorite memories of Alvin.
