Andrew "Andy" Lincoln Creed, Cdr, USN (Retired) entered into the joy of Christ's heavenly kingdom suddenly February 5, 2020, at his home in Pensacola, Florida. Andy was born in Chelsea, Massachusetts, to Navy Capt. Donald Lincoln Creed and Helen Kraynek in 1944. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High in Portsmouth, VA, in 1963, enlisted in the naval reserve as a Machinist's Mate, graduated from Gordon Military College and the University of Tennessee with a degree in Industrial Management.

Andy became an aviation officer candidate in the AVROC program and was designated as a Naval Aviator in 1970. He served for 22 years as a P-3 pilot in VP-26 and VP-16 deploying to all points of the globe. He also served on the Patrol Wing 11 staff and as Air Operations Officer at Patuxent River Naval Air Station among other duty stations.

He was the consummate mechanic and Mr. Fix-it. There was nothing he could not look at, decipher, and repair from rebuilding engines and transmissions to aiding a friend build a single engine aircraft in a garage in the evenings.

Retiring to Pensacola after 27 years of faithful service in the United States Navy in 1990, he became an active member of Christ Church, Tiger Bay Club, and other organizations.

Andy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lynda Grace Futch, and children Andrew Lincoln Creed III, wife Melissa Anne, and grandchildren, Alex, Catherine, Abbie, and Aiden of Marietta, GA, John Bonner Creed, and daughter, Merle of Spokane, WA, and Caroline Carlisle and Alan Tidwell, of Atlanta, GA,

Andy will be laid to rest Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Barrancas National Cemetery, followed by services at Christ Church Episcopal at 11:30am.
