Annabelle Lee Honeycutt Creel, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, July 16, 2017.
Mrs. Creel grew up on a rural farm in Johnston County in North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Gertrude Stanley. She lived with her mother in the home of her grandparents and attended Cleveland School, where she earned the highest grade average of her graduating class. After graduating from high school, she attended Peace College, located in Raleigh. After graduating from Peace College, she was hired to fill a position at the Governor Moorehead School for Visibly Blind Children, (grade one through twelve.) Mrs. Creel was promoted to the position of Budget Director of the school and later promoted to the position of Registrar of the school. She completed 25 years of service and was eligible for state retirement. In December of 1974, she met John Creel while visiting Pensacola and they married in June of 1975. Annabelle and John enjoyed 42 years of marriage. They lived the most beautiful marriage that two people could have possibly lived. Always giving God credit for his guidance and love.
A visitation will be held Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 10:00 am until the funeral service begins at 11:00 am at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ross Lankford officiating.
