Annette M. Whitson, 93 of Pensacola passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012. Annette was born in Memphis, TN on April 20, 1919. She taught kindergarten and elementary school in Memphis, Jackson, MS and Pensacola. She retired from the Mississippi Public School System. She was preceded in death by her husband, L. R. Whitson; parents, Dr. & Mrs. L. J. McRae; brother, Jerome McRae and sister, Mauriece Grant. Survivors include her daughters, Annise Mock (Jerry), Lynn Banke (Don) and Lauren Mohundro; brother, Horace McRae (Bea); grandchildren Janice Keiper (Mike), Chip Banke (Holly) and Robert Mohundro (Ashley); five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 10:30am until the Funeral Service at 11:30am Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Ken Griffin officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32504 or to American Cancer Society, 5401 Corporate Woods Dr., Ste. 100, Pensacola, FL 32504.
