Obituary

Annie McGraw Flores was born March 11, 1922, in Wilcox Co., AL and was called to Our Heavenly Father Monday, December 14, 2020, in Pensacola, FL.

Annie worked for many years as a secretary for the Vredenburgh Sawmill Company before moving to Pensacola to work for O'Sullivan Pontiac. She one time graced the Pontiac dealer's Mardi Gras float in downtown Pensacola. It was in Pensacola she met and married her loving husband of 54 years, Michael James Flores Jr. Michael proposed to her at the iconic Jerry's Drive-in in East Pensacola Heights.

Annie worked for St. Paul Catholic Church Ladies Auxiliary for many years as well as supported the March of Dimes. Annie and Michael were members of "The Supper Club" meeting all their friends monthly for a meal and good fellowship. She loved the outdoors, gardening, and art. Many times, she would talk about playing softball as a young girl and joined her children in playing ball. She also played golf and tennis as a young girl and participated in several sports. Annie had numerous talents and interests, many put aside to care for her family. She was a devoted mother and shuttled seven children to daily activities and attended scout meetings, basketball games, speech contests, art fairs and church functions in support of her family and community. She also had many children who referred to her as "Momma Flores" and continue to do so to this day. She loved all her children, "adopted" children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always enjoyed having them stop by or all get together to regale tall tales about their childhood exploits, many fortunately she did not know at the time were going on. We could always count on her to poke her fingers in the Whitman's chocolates to find out what they were and then giggle when caught or run through the list of all our names before she zeroed in on who was in trouble. We are fortunate to have so many fun memories of our mother.

Annie is preceded in death by her parents, Charlotte Burletta Sadler and Henry Isa McGraw; her devoted husband, Michael; her beloved son, Larry; her four brothers, William Sadler McGraw, Carl McGraw, Henry "Tite" McGraw, and Ray McGraw; as well as her son-in-law, David Welch.

Annie and Michael lived for many years on Scenic Hwy. and raised seven children. She leaves behind her children, Michael J. Flores III (Mae), Renee Welch, Kerry R. Flores, Lisa Flores Caballero, Melissa Lambert (Jon), and Tracy Connors (Brian); 12 grandchildren, April Enciso (David), Alicia Flores, Rebecca Flores, Carlie Skyrme (Buddy), Jessica Flores, Shane Flores, Samantha Anderson (Jon), Gabrielle Flores, Abigaille Flores, John Paul Caballero (Amanda), Quina Lambert Lopez (Kevin) and Jon Lambert Jr. (Maddy); her 10 great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Caiden, Dane, Brock, Alena, Diego, Eva, Zeriona, Kaylee, and Addison; as well as many nieces, nephews, and four sisters-in-law, Margaret, Sarah, Sally and Billy Dove McGraw, all who will mourn her.

Annie continued her loving support of all her children and grandchildren even as her health declined. "Momma (Grandma)" will be missed greatly by her friends and family, but mostly by the children she supported, loved, and mentored.

Visitation will be held 10:00am until the Funeral Service to begin at 11:00am Friday, December 18, 2020 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

The family would like to especially thank her angels on earth Denise, Lelia and Yumekia, her long-time physician, Dr. Amos Prevatt, and the staff of Covenant Hospice.
