Annie Laurie Riddles, 87, of Pensacola passed away Monday, December 2, 2013. Mrs. Riddles was primarily a homemaker, taking care of her husband and four children. She was extraordinarily gifted in music, possessing a clear and beautiful soprano voice and a talent for playing several instruments by ear. This gift and interest she passed on to all four children and grandchildren. She also volunteered at area nursing homes, singing and playing for the residents. A woman of strong spirit, she lived on her own until shortly before her death. She was full of fun with a great sense of humor and could find the sense of fun in any situation. Mrs. Riddles was a woman of strong faith and love of family, values she passed on to her children. Lastly, Annie Laurie aggressively loved and was grateful for life itself. Up to the day she died, she expressed her joy in each new day of being alive and seeing the cycle of life and its energy all around her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin T. Riddles, Sr. and her daughter, Joyce Ann Woodruff. Survivors include her children, Benjamin Thomas Riddles, II, Mark Dawson Riddles and Laurie Lynn Riddles; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held 5-7pm Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 2:00pm Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Barrancas National Cemetery. The family would like to express a special thanks to Linda Fowlkes who treated Annie Laurie with such tenderness, love, and care in her final days and in making her final arrangements.
