Anthony "AJ" Joseph Burks, 22, of Milton, FL passed away Monday, June 12, 2017.

AJ was born on February 17, 1995 in Ft. Walton Beach, FL. He was a graduate of Choctawhatchee High School class of 2013. He enjoyed spending time with his two young sons. Playing video games with his siblings and friends was one of his favorite pastimes. Family was very important to AJ.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Kevin M. Waites.

He is survived by his sons, Kevin and Scott; his wife, Tara Mesiner of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; mother, Rachel Waites of Milton, FL; grandmothers, Sandra Burks of South Carolina and Judy Waites of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; godparents, Faye Davis and her fiancé, David Boren of Milton, FL and Rick Davis and his wife of Pensacola, FL; his grandfather, Robert Grappone (Ginger) of Crestview, FL; brother, Bryce Burks (Emily) of Virginia; brother, Zachary Waites of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; sister, Leia Burks of Milton, FL; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

There was a small Private Memorial Service for the family and close friends.
