Anthony "Tony" Miceli, 93, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 after a long illness.
Tony was a graduate of the University of Illinois and was stationed near Waco, TX, while serving in the Army, where he met his wife Margie. They resided in Decatur, IL where Tony worked for Illinois Power. In 1970 the family moved to Pensacola, where Tony worked at the City of Pensacola Gas Department.
Upon retirement he worked overseas for several years as a Corrosion Engineer. After returning to the states he started his own corrosion company, AMPS, Inc. Once the company was sold he volunteered at Sacred Heart Hospital in Patient Deliveries and the Gift Shop.
Tony was preceded in death by his wife, Margie; his oldest son, Father James Miceli and infant daughter, Michelle Ann.
He is survived by his two sons, Sam Miceli (Shirley) of Milton and Kevin Miceli of Pensacola, who was his primary care-giver; grandsons, Matt Edge and John Edge both of Milton.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 2-4pm at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am Monday, January 25, 2016 at Cathedral of The Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with Msgr. Reed of St. Rose of Lima, celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
