Tony passed away Friday, January 21, 2011, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Tony was born August 26, 1954, at Eglin AFB Hospital. He attended Beggs High School in Pensacola. He married Kathy Gillis in 1972. He joined the Army in 1972, and was honorably medically discharged in 1976. He and Kathy had one child, Christina Michelle. Tony worked offshore out of New Orleans for several years. He married Penny Jackson in 1981. They had 2 children, Anthony L. Jr., and Angela Lynn. He lived in Milton for the past 16 years, and had many friends. He had a dynamic personality, and a wonderful gift of making you laugh and feel better. He was a loving father, brother, and son. He will be deeply missed by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar E. Powell, Jr., and Maxine Arnett Powell; two brothers, Terry Ray, and Dennis E. Powell. He is survived by his three children, Christina M (Jason), Anthony L. Powell, Jr., and Angela Lynn (Anthony); his step-mother, Mollie; two brothers, Edgar E. (Dale), and Thomas D. (Nina); six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 26, 2011 from 10:00am until the Funeral Service at 11:00am at East Brent Baptist Church, with Dr. Dale Patterson officiating. Burial will be at Barrancas National Cemetery. HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements. He always was, is and will be "TONYPOWELL"!
