Arnold Leon Rosenbleeth, 78, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020 in Pensacola, FL. He was born on May 26, 1941 in Boston, Massachusetts to Robert M. Rosenbleeth and Evelyn Reck Rosenbleeth. He graduated from North Miami High School in 1959 and from the College of Pharmacy at the University of Florida in 1964. He worked for many years at SuperRx pharmacy in Miami and relocated to Pensacola in 1970. He ventured into independent pharmacy in 1980 buying McLean's Drug Store (renaming it to Arnie's Value-Rite Pharmacy in the late 80s) in Cantonment and Traxler's Drugs in Pensacola. He eventually sold to CVS pharmacy where he continued to work until he retired in 2016. He continued as a pharmacy consultant up until his death.
Arnie was very involved in many social and civic organizations. He served in many leadership positions in Five Flags Sertoma, including President and Board Governor. He held offices in Karnival Kavaliers, and was a member of Fiesta of Five Flags, Waterfront Improvement Board, Royal Order of Moose Lodge #2193, was a 44-year member of the Krewe of Lafitte, and was a member of the Mayoki Indians in the early 1980's. Arnie also served on the Board of the Center for Independent Living. He was passionate about traveling around the world and loved collecting old coins and stamps, old clocks/watches and firetrucks, researching genealogy, cruisin' the coast in his 1953 Buick "Big Red" and enjoying a good cigar.
Arnie was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Leonard Rosenbleeth, his parents, and his sister Charlotte Cohn. He is survived by his two daughters, Lesleyanne (Keith) Jordan of Tallahassee, FL and Stacey-Lynne (Tracy) Spence of Pensacola, FL, two granddaughters, Madison Spence and Briley Jordan, two grandsons, Adam Spence and Bryce Jordan and his grand dog "Ella". In addition, he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Susan Rosenbleeth of Atlanta, GA, his brother-in-law Emery Leonard of Atlanta, GA, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Barbara Leonard and Dan Greene of Lakewood Ranch, FL, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Nancy and Edward San Roman of Dallas, TX and his very special friend (fondly known as "The Girlfriend"), Patricia Knoll, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews: Martin Cohn, Emery Leonard III, Adam Cohn, Robert Rosenbleeth, Edward San Roman, Luke San Roman, Major Benjamin Van Horrick, and George Merusi.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held 10:00am Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with graveside service to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
