Ashley Williams Thompson, 53, of Pensacola died at her home on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, surrounded by her family.

Ashley, a native of Pensacola, loved the beauty of our beaches, spending time with her family and friends, and playing tennis. She enjoyed traveling and vacations and was an avid reader. Ashley Thompson was a loving wife, a proud mother, a dedicated friend, and she had a vivacious, irrepressible spirit.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband, Mr. William H. Thompson and her son, Dawson Thompson of Pensacola; her daughter and son-in-law, Caitlin Alexandra Thompson Holmgren and Andrew D. Holmgren of Durham, North Carolina; her mother and step-father, Jean Calvert and Dr. Bill Calvert; her father, Bill Williams, Sr., and brothers, Bill Williams, Jr., David Williams, and Malcolm Williams.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015, at 10:30 a.m., at First United Methodist Church of Pensacola, followed by a reception at the Wright Place.

The family would like to especially thank Dr. Thomas Sunnenberg, Shannon Cassidy, Rene Moses, and the staff of Sacred Heart Cancer Center.
