Aubrey E. Gomillion, 82, of Pensacola, FL, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, December 20, 2008. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Aubrey was born in Jay, Florida on September 19, 1926 to Claude and Maggie Gomillion and resided in Pensacola for over 50 years. Aubrey graduated from Jay High School as Valedictorian and President of the student body for the class of 1945. He graduated Magnum Cum Laude from the University of Florida in 1950. He was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and Beta Alpha Psi honorary fraternities. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He married his high school sweetheart, Francine in 1946. Aubrey was a CPA for over 40 years in Pensacola, Florida. He was a life member of the Florida Institute of CPAs, American Institute of CPAs, Board of Governors of Florida Institute of CPAs, Board of Trustees for the R. Warner Ring Foundation, and former President of the local Chapter of CPAs. He retired as a managing partner of Grant Thornton International CPAs. Until his health began to fail, he was an active member of the Subwest Rotary Club (Paul Harris Fellow), member of the Chamber of Commerce local and state, World Trade Council, and Jaycee's from which he earned the Boss of the Year Award. Aubrey was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Pensacola serving as a deacon, Sunday school director, and senior and sanctuary choirs. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Claude and Maggie Gomillion, his brother Lester C. Gomillion, his son Craig Gomillion, and his son in law, Timothy Brown. He is survived by his loving wife Francine Gomillion of 63 years, his daughters Linda Brown and Joy Johnston (Matt), grandchildren Lee Brown (Tracy) and Hollie Blanchard (Todd), Joshua Johnston, Sara Parker (Brian), Lisa Johnston, and Zach Johnston, great grandchildren Kristopher, Brandon, Jocelynne, Tyler, Paris, Noah, and Gavin. He is also survived by his sister Willie Mac Martin (William) and sister in law Juanita Gomillion of Pensacola, Uncles Max Ray Gomillion (Carolyn) of Jay and Frank Gomillion of Virginia, Aunt Elva Gomillion of Eastman, Georgia, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family expresses deep appreciation and thanks to care givers: Mary Lynn, Luke, and Jenny. Service will be officiated by Pastor Dr. Barry Howard of First Baptist Church of Pensacola, eulogy will be given by long time family friend, Ben Parker. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of First Baptist Church. Active Pallbearers will be nephews. Visitation will be Monday, December 22, 2008 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at 1:00 pm at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Interment will be at Bayview Memorial Park.
