IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara L.
Blews
September 14, 1938 – October 2, 2024
Barbara Louise Blews, 86, was born on September 14, 1938, to Eleanor and Shelby Yerby in Panama City, FL, and passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, in Pensacola, FL. She went to the Lord's heavenly home to join her adoring husband, Monte.
Barbara was a faithful and supportive military wife starting at the age of 19 when she married the love of her life, Monte. They were married 66 years and traveled the country to different Air Force bases, along with their children, experiencing each location with a sense of adventure and admiration before retiring to Pensacola, FL. She found joy in every experience that she had with her family from camping, to snowmobiling, to fishing, and every other opportunity they had on their life journey together as a family. She loved her family, and they loved her. Barbara found beauty in each day and each person she met. She filled her home with love and laughter and wanted everyone who entered her home to experience warmth and compassion.
Barbara cared for and supported her husband, children, and grandchildren with an immeasurable amount of love, kindness, patience, and grace. Her love was felt by everyone whose life she touched. She experienced many health challenges over the last few years and faced each one with courage and strength. Barbara was adored and will be missed terribly. Mom, know that you are loved, and you will forever be remembered. We will hold you in our hearts, and our memories. Barbara's "love and light" will be eternal in the heart and soul of each person that was blessed to have known her.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Monte Blews; parents, Eleanor and Shelby Yerby; and brother, Albert Yerby.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and is survived by her children, Monte Blews (Joyce), Mark Blews (Renee), and Bambi Provost (Tom); brothers-in-law, Bill Blews and Frank Blews (Linda); brother, Bodie Yerby (Wanda); and sister, Sandy Parsons. Barbara is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews whom she loved with her whole heart.
