Barbara Brooks, 89, of Pensacola, FL passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026.

Barbara was born on January 1, 1937, in Benton, AR to Elsie (Nicholson) and Delbert Newcomb, and graduated from Benton High School. She was a devoted member of Gateway Church of Christ, where she worked as the financial secretary for 25 years. In addition to working for the church Barbara also worked for GSRI and Hobart. She enjoyed shopping for and collecting antiques, cooking was one of her passions making desserts like Peanut Brittle, and her famous enchiladas and chicken noodle soup. Thursdays were the days she loved, it was hair and beauty day.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray Miguez; sister, Carolyn Ronsonet; and brother, Butch Newcomb.

She is survived by her spouse, Jerry R. Brooks; sons, Marc and Mitch Miguez; daughters, Jennifer Stoute and Lisa Patburg, Jean Russo; grandchildren, Ashley Miguez, Joe Miguez, Cate Miguez, Tyler Russo, Shana Bayard, Presley Wallace, Gentry, Avery, Sutton Stoute; and great grandchildren, Stormy, Jackson and Pheonix.

Visitation will be held from 11:00am until a Memorial Service at 12:00pm Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Society or ASPCA.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Mary Miguez and Vitas Hospice for their comforting and loving care given to Mrs. Brooks and her family.
