Barbara Pearson Giffard, 76, went home to be with the Lord on July 13, 2017. She was born on November 3, 1940 to Joseph and Bernice Pearson. She was the oldest of five children, Wayne Pearson, Earl Pearson (Tampa, FL.), Sybil French (Tampa, FL) and Travis Pearson). Upon graduation from high school she attended and received her beautician license.

She married James Giffard, Sr. on October 25, 1961. During their twenty-nine years of marriage, she enjoyed traveling with the military, three wonderful children; James Giffard, Jr. (Baltimore, MD), Gwynette Fillingane (Pensacola, FL) and Sarah Giffard (Pensacola, FL); her grandchildren; Melissa Poninski (Portage, IN), Wesley Owens (Ellijay, GA) and Bridget Romeiko (Pensacola, FL).

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Bernice Pearson; her brother, Wayne Pearson and grandson, Eric Poninski.

She worked various positions to help support her family. Her favorite being senior or elder care. She was actively involved in scouting, children's school activities, community activities, as well as many arts and crafts.

As a child, she professed Christ and was baptized. She taught children's Sunday school, lay leader to several youth groups, member of altar guild, ladies ministries and numerous Bible studies.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00am Monday, July 17, 2017 from the Chapel at Olive Baptist Church.
