Barbara Belardinelli Loux, 94, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2026.
Barbara was born on December 13, 1931, in Madera, CA to Gino and Naomi Belardinelli. She later moved to Chowchilla, where she graduated from business college. She then moved to live and work in Coronado, CA in the banking industry. It was there that she was introduced by a friend to LTJG Raymond E. Loux.
In October 1954, they were married which led to a 56-year union ending in 2010 with Ray's passing. Throughout the years, Barbara was active with the squadron wives' Officer and Enlisted groups and helped support the families of those deployed while maintaining a (somewhat) normal life for Jackie, Chris and Jonathan.
After Ray's retirement in 1973, they moved back to Pensacola. Barbara played golf with Ray and enjoyed a hole-in-one. She finally decided she would never play as well as she would like and became very active in the volunteer community. She was on the original board of Appetite for Life and delivered meals to clients. From there she went to Manna Food Pantries where she stayed for many years. Of late she volunteered at St. Joseph Soup Kitchen.
Barbara lived a long and happy life, one filled with few regrets but many blessings, the friends made over the years and especially those made since she and Ray returned to Pensacola after his retirement.
Barbara's husband, Captain Raymond E. Loux (USN), preceded her in death in 2010. Their son-in-law, Bill Blackmon in 2009, their son, Jonathan in 2015 and daughter, Marie, born and deceased in 1957.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacalyn Blackmon; son, Christopher Loux; grandsons, Michael (Julie) and Jeremy; granddaughter, Rebecca; and 3 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held 11:30am until a Mass of Christian Burial begins at 12:30pm Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 1212 E. Moreno St., Pensacola, FL, with Fr. Pat Foley celebrant. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
