Barbara Dillinger Parrish was born on May 22, 1934 in Wilkinsburg, PA. She graduated from Pensacola High School in 1952, then attended Tulane University and graduated in 1957. She married Lt. William I. Parrish in 1958. During his Naval career, they lived at several United States and foreign Naval Stations and traveled extensively. The family returned to Pensacola, Florida in 1978. Barbara Parrish pursued a professional career in Real Estate in the Pensacola and surrounding areas. She was a devoted member of Christ Episcopal Church in downtown Pensacola and was active in several local organizations including the Pensacola Museum of Art, the Retired Officers Wives Association, the Pensacola Yacht Club and various Athletic Clubs and was also a volunteer in Charity organizations. Barbara was preceded in death by her father, George Dillinger and her mother, Leoda Poole Dillinger. She is survived by her husband, retired Capt. William I. Parrish, daughters Cindy Parrish Ramage of Mims, FL., Karen Lee Parrish of Gulf Shores, AL, and Sharon Parrish Lane of North Bend, WA. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Harper Morris Memorial Chapel from 5-7pm on Thursday, October 16, 2008. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 11:30am at Christ Episcopal Church with the Reverend Harry H. Hill officiating. The burial will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery at 1:15 P.M. Active Pallbearers will be David Hartsaw, Yancy Parrish, Fred Ross, Eric McDonald, David Ramage and Matthew Ramage. Honorary Pallbearers will be Stephen Eytel, Bradley Ramage, Julian Parrish and Jose Salazar. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 18 W. Wright Street, Pensacola, FL 32501. HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
