Bardin "Bart" Warren Fraker, 72, of Pensacola, FL, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013. A native of Hagerstown, MD, he graduated from South Hagerstown High School, class of '58. Upon his graduation, Bart enlisted in the United States Navy, where he proudly served as a Hospital Corpsman. Bart retired as a Master Chief Corpsman after 30 years of service. Following his retirement, Bart took a position with the Industrial Hygiene Department at the Naval Hospital Pensacola, where he served as an Industrial Hygiene Technician for 20 additional years. His 50 years of combined service were not enough for Bart he then began to serve as a volunteer for the American Red Cross in the Preventive Medicine Department at the Hospital. Throughout his active duty, civilian, and volunteer careers Bart dedicated himself towards the education and training of Hospital Corpsman. The classes he taught were affectionately dubbed "Fraker University." Navy Corpsman from all over the world traveled to participate in his classes. Passing on his wisdom and experience was truly his greatest passion. His favorite hobbies included softball, racquetball and bowling. He is preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Hazel Fraker; and daughter, Diana Hodum. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Betty Lou Fraker; son, Randy Stull (Angela); brother, Gary Fraker (June); sisters, Barbara Kirkpatrick, Vicki Bard (Denny) and Brenda Shirk (John); three grandchildren, Shannon, Stephen and Taylor; as well as five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 5-7pm Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, Pensacola, FL. Funeral Service for Master Chief Fraker will be held 10:45am Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the All Faith Chapel (Pensacola Naval Air Station - bldg #634 west wing) with burial following at Barrancas National Cemetery (PNAS).
