Rebecca Susan "Becky" McPheron, 80, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in Pensacola, FL.

Born in Superior, NE, to Mason Hart, Jr., and Kathryn Price Hart, she spent most of her childhood in Enid, OK. After graduation from Oklahoma State University, she attended graduate school at Oklahoma State and the University of Hawaii.

Becky married Marine Corps pilot Donald A. McPheron in 1964 and as a military wife lived in several duty stations. In 1981 they settled in Pensacola, and Becky joined the staff of W. J. Woodham High School. A talented and conscientious teacher, she taught English, AP English, Drama and Speech, as well as TV production over the next twenty years. After retirement she and friend Martha Smith started WriteRight Communications, concentrating on résumé writing but also assisting clients with project management and video production.

Becky and Don traveled extensively, both before and after retirement, often with friends, sometimes in their RV and sometimes with military space-available opportunities with Bob and Twila Mills. Many trips were to visit their children, Shay and her family in California and Doug in Oklahoma. They also visited Becky and Don's other family members. There were always games to be played with family and friends, especially cribbage. Becky was never without a book nearby.

Becky is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Don; daughter, Shay Reardon (John); son, Doug McPheron; grandsons, Clay Reardon and Luke Reardon; sisters, Gail Shanklin (Frank), Ellen Hart, Jamie Whitten (J. D.) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be held 10:30 am Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ken Griffin officiating. Committal service will immediately follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
