IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Becky Ellisor
Nash
May 18, 1944 – July 7, 2025
With heavy hearts, we want to share that Rebecca "Becky" Ann Ellisor Nash, 81, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL.
Becky was born on May 18, 1944, in Greenville, AL, to Thomas McConnell Ellisor, Sr. and Mary Evelyn Hart. She graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile, AL and attended the University of South Alabama. She married John Thornton Nash on December 10, 1966.
Becky lived for a short time in California while John was serving as a naval aviator in Viet Nam. Then they were stationed in Orange Park, FL, until 1980 when they transferred to Albuquerque, NM. She worked as a bookkeeper during her years there, and after retirement Becky and John moved to Durango, CO for several years, then finally settled in Pensacola, FL – where they'd first met and fell in love.
Becky loved her family fiercely and generously. She was an incomparable cook and baker –her cross-country living had her Seafood Gumbo as delectable as her NM Green Chile Chicken Soup. She loved to volunteer for church outreaches, one of her favorites being the "Crafty Ladies" in Durango where she and her mother Evelyn made crafts to raise funds for their church's mission programs. She loved the beach, Crimson Tide football, snow skiing, long walks, loving on her grandchildren, going to church, hot air ballooning, playing Scrabble and Skip Bo and watching the Blue Angels. She cared for her family endlessly and selflessly.
Becky is preceded in death by both her parents, as well as her brothers, Thomas McConnell Ellisor, Jr., David Reynolds Ellisor, William Blakely Ellisor, John LeGrand Ellisor, David Francis Ellisor and Charles Marshall Ellisor.
Becky is survived by her husband, LCDR John Thornton Nash, USN (Ret.); her son, Scott Allan Nash; her daughter, Susan Michele Polk; her son-in-law, Dennis Gregory Polk; her grandchildren, Molly Annelies Polk, Benjamin Graeme Polk, Sean Thornton Polk and Rachael Evelyn Rose Polk; her sister, Frances Lancaster, and many nieces and nephews.
Though our hearts are heavy, we know she's exactly where she wanted to be at the end of her earthly life, in God's hands, and most likely having a right-proper Low Country Boil with her mother and brothers.
A Visitation will be held 1:00pm until a Celebration of Life Service begins at 2:00pm Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, Pensacola, FL, with Rev. Bobby Ellisor officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to: Global Methodist Church of Pensacola - Building Fund, PO Box 10442, Pensacola, FL 32524 or at Global Methodist FUTURE HOME offering
