Berdena Maxine Krick Bragg, loving mother and "Nana", went to her heavenly home on May 23, 2021 at the age of 91. Berdena was born on August 20, 1929 in Wheeler, IL to William and Mary (Tanner) Krick. Berdena grew up on a farm in Illinois as the youngest of three girls. She went on to attend college and graduated with her teaching degree from Eastern Illinois University in 1951 as their 5,000th graduate. Berdena loved teaching and found much meaning in her work. She taught grade school for 11 years, and later worked for JcPenney as the Selling Supervisor for 23 years. She met Donald Henry Bragg while in college. They married on August 20, 1950 and had two daughters together, Tamara Sue and Tracy Ann.

Berdena had a passion for the Lord and a gift for caring for others. She spent much of her life serving and praying for her family, and she found joy in being generous. For fun, she loved to play cards, go on walks, and spend time studying God's Word. Berdena was a people person, but she especially loved children. She made the time to enjoy her only great-grandson, Wendell, and was never above getting on the floor to play.

Berdena was preceded in death by her father, William; her mother, Mary; her daughter, Tracy; her husband, Don; her sister, Lucille Poehler; and her second husband, Roy Thompson. She is survived by her daughter, Tamara (Bill) McEachern; her sister, Delores Knott; and her grandchildren, Rachel (Matthew) Harding, Tyler McEachern, and Wendell Harding.

A private, graveside service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery where Berdena will be buried alongside Donald Bragg.
