Albert Kropp “Bert” Bruner, died Tuesday, April 21, 2026, in Pensacola, FL.
He was born in Decatur, AL on March 16, 1957, and grew up in Pensacola, where he graduated from Pensacola School of Liberal Arts in 1975. Bert graduated from New College at the University of Alabama in 1979 and pursued a career in computer science. He worked in Titusville for a few years where he had projects at Kennedy Space Center and learned to fly. The majority of his working life was spent in the Atlanta area where he worked in computer services at Emory University, Lockheed Martin and Northside Hospital. In addition to flying, Bert was an avid photographer and ham radio operator.
Bert is preceded in death by his wife of almost 40 years Rebecca Landry Bruner and his father Albert H. Bruner.
Survivors include son, Karl Patrick Bruner; mother, Margaret Bruner; siblings; Linda Enfinger (Floyd), Catherine Matthews (Richard), Richard Bruner (Cynthia); in-laws, Pattylynn Landry, Leigh Ann Phelps (Fred), Michael Landry (Sarah); nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Visitation will be held from 9:30am until a Funeral Service begins at 10:00am Monday, April 27, 2026, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Dan Baughman officiating. Burial will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank the nurses and caregivers of Gentiva Hospice, ACG Hospice, The Residence in Pensacola, and The Reserve of Fairhope for the special care they provided in the last few weeks.
