Charles Gilbert "Bert" Hoffman, Jr., passed away peacefully Sunday, December 5, 2021, with family at his bedside.

Bert was a devoted husband of 57 years to his wife Betty, loving father for his daughters, Hollie and Heather (husband, Mike) grandfather to Mikey and Maddie, and brother to John (wife, Chris).

Bert was born 83 years ago in Baltimore, MD, but moved to Annapolis, MD, where he developed a life-long interest in the Navy and naval history. Bert graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Chemical Engineering. After serving in the Air Force, he worked at Monsanto for over 30 years, during which time he achieved a Master's in Environmental Engineering from Drexel University. Bert enjoyed learning and took college courses wherever he lived.

Bert loved to travel, and cruising had become a favorite activity. He and Betty both enjoyed playing and watching tennis, as well as cheering for the Orioles and Ravens.

Bert loved his country, his family and friends, country music, and Ireland.

A funeral cortege will depart Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel at 10:00am for a graveside service to begin at 10:30am Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Barrancas National Cemetery with Chaplain Jim Dietz officiating and military honors. A celebration of life service will be held 2:00pm Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Azalea Trace Auditorium.
