Obituary

On February 11, 2023, Betty Jo (BJ) Cascone Etheridge, 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born May 10, 1950, to Joseph Franklin Cascone and Betty Ruth (Shipman) Cascone.

Betty Jo was a lifelong resident of Pensacola, FL. She attended Escambia High School. Betty Jo worked most of her career in telecommunications at Bell South and West Florida Hospital. After leaving West Florida Hospital, she worked with Professional Hearing Aid Center and later retired from Navy Federal Credit Union. She was an avid reader and loved flowers, especially pink roses, daisies, and pansies. Betty Jo had a passion for the beach and spent many days enjoying Pensacola's beautiful white beaches collecting seashells and enjoying the sunshine.

Betty Jo was baptized and confirmed at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church and was a lifelong member. In recent years, she attended Nativity Catholic Church in Pensacola.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Joseph Franklin Cascone and Betty Ruth (Shipman) Cascone, son-in-law Jeffery Thomas Mull, great-grandson, Luca Chase Vickery.

Betty Jo is survived by the love of her life, Charles Daniel Etheridge, her loving children; daughter, Michelle Dykes Mull (Eddie) of Rosenberg, Texas and son, Bryan Daniel Etheridge (Brittany) of Pensacola; her brother, Paul Franklin Cascone (Cindy), brother-in-law, Frank Etheridge (Nancy); grandchildren, Jarrod Cole Vickery (Savanah), Jonathan Chase Vickery (Mackenzie), Maranda Lyn Mull (Allen), Brock Daniel and Brynlee Louise Etheridge, Bryce Justin, Brayden Caldwell and John Brody Ford and 8 great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who she cherished dearly.

A special thank you to her first cousins, Edward Villar and Cathy Villar, who Betty Jo considered her siblings.

In honor of Betty Jo's wishes, A Celebration of Life will be held at Scenic Hills Country Club, Saturday, February 18 th , 2023, from 4:00pm – 6:00pm for friends and family to eat, drink and celebrate life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Lymphoma Research Foundation, The ALS Association Alabama Chapter, Make-A-Wish foundation, Tunnel 2 Towers or St. Jude.

The family would like to thank all her physicians, caregivers and Covenant Care for their care and compassion.
