Betty Anna (Wedding) Failing, 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.
Born on January 7, 1929, in Kansas City, MO, Betty's life was a testament to love, strength, and a zest for life that touched the hearts of all who knew her. Betty's radiant spirit brought boundless joy and laughter to those around her. Despite the challenges that Alzheimer's brought in her final years, her unwavering warmth and care continued to touch the lives of everyone she encountered.
Betty attended Westport High School in Kansas City, MO. Her professional journey was remarkable, as she flourished as a finance manager at Montgomery Wards and further contributed her expertise to Citicorp Credit Services upon retirement. Her dedication and diligence shone as bright examples throughout her accomplished career.
In her leisure, Betty discovered a passion for bridge and golf, skills she honed with determination and joy. Her membership in the Red Hat Society in Sun City, AZ, allowed her to forge lifelong friendships while embracing life's challenges with a smile. Her faith found a home at Willowbrook United Methodist Church in Sun City, AZ, before she relocated to Pensacola in 2015.
Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband, Harvey Failing; mother, Gladys Wedding; brother, Herbert Wedding and sister, Lorraine Dameron. Their reunion now brings solace to those who hold them dear.
She leaves behind a legacy of love that will be cherished by her son, Bradley Failing of Pace, FL and her daughter, Sharon Van Ness of Albuquerque, NM. Betty's memory lives on through her grandchildren, Andrea Failing, Lindsey Rosal, Jordan Failing, Michelle Zoss, and Brian Van Ness. Additionally, her great-grandchildren Ember, Emersyn, Adelyn, Elena, Isabel, Fiona, Cordelia, Jace and Lyra will carry forth her spirit.
Betty will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her boundless love for her family, and her unwavering enthusiasm for life. May her soul find eternal serenity as her memory lives on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to have known her.
Memorial Service will be held 3:00pm Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Mike Mashburn officiating.
