Betty Ruth Mayo McJoyner, 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 8, 2022.
Betty was born on January 6, 1940, in Atmore, AL. She and her family moved to Pensacola after she was born. Betty grew up in a loving family. She was baptized at Southside Baptist Church. She graduated from Pensacola High School in 1957 and then attended Pensacola Junior College. Betty began working at the Citizens and Peoples National Bank in 1959 and retired in 1992. After retiring, she worked several years at A to Z School Supply with her brother, Barron.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, E. M. "Mac" McJoyner; her parents, Barron "B.E." and Doris Mayo; as well as her brother, Douglas Eugene "Gene" Mayo.
Betty is survived by her brother, Barron Mayo, Jr.; her sisters, Doris Mayo Jenkins (Ken), Sara Jayne Hyduk (Norman), and Barbara L'Abbe (Joe); sister-in-law, Patty Mayo; as well as Bonnie McQuagge, who was like a sister to Betty and our family. She is also survived by her nephews, Doug Mayo (Annette), David Mayo, Jeremy L'Abbe, Nicholas Hyduk, and nieces, Sheila Parker and Sara Seeley (David); as well as great nieces and nephews, Courtney Parker, Nicole Peterson (Eric), and Jonathan Mayo.
Visitation will be held 9:30am until the Funeral Service to begin at 10:00am Friday, January 14, 2022, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Brian Nott officiating. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with her beloved husband, Mac.
Betty's family was very important to her. She will be greatly missed by all of us.
