Obituary

William "Bill" Gahlenbeck, Jr., 94, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020.

Bill was born and raised in Pensacola FL, after graduating from Pensacola High School, he served in the US Army Air Corp during World War II. When the war ended, he returned home from overseas and worked with Luther Smith in Administration at the Medical Center Clinic until retirement. Bill loved people and had a knack for making anyone feel important. He was very connected in the community and town that he loved. Bill was a loving and devoted father who loved the outdoors, and our beaches. He played tennis on Pensacola Beach well into his upper 80's ending the matches with a trip to the Shaker along with his many friends. He was the world's oldest teenager who had a love and passion for life. He was a lifelong FSU Seminole.

He is survived by his four children, Linda Kennedy (Mike), Billy Gahlenbeck, Gary Gahlenbeck and Amy Clark (Peter); two nieces, Michelle McKee and Vickie Bell (Matt); seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held 3:00pm Sunday, March 8, 2020 at St. Christopher Episcopal Church. He will be missed but we are so thankful for his long and full life.

We would like to thank Dr. Inclan, his Woodlands Staff, the Baptist Infusion center and the Covenant Inpatient Care Center at Sacred Heart Hospital staff. You all made a very difficult time less so.
