Billy F. Vinson, 90, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on Wednesday May 07, 2025.
Billy was a beloved husband, father, and friend, he was born on October 29, 1934, in Limestone County, AL, to James Hobson Vinson and Merle Vinson (née Glanton).
Billy graduated from West Limestone High School in 1953 and soon after he proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years. Upon completing his service, he began a long and fulfilling career with Monsanto in 1958. A year later, he transferred to the company's new facility in Pensacola, FL, where he settled and spent the remainder of his life. He retired from Monsanto in 1986 after nearly three decades of dedicated work.
On September 10, 1960, Billy married the love of his life, Barbara Grace Cribbs. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion, creating a home in Pensacola that was a haven for family and friends. Billy was a man of diverse talents, and he had a tireless work ethic, he pursued various roles following his retirement. He worked in insurance, transported rental vehicles, and served at West Florida Hospital as a valet. Additionally, he also owned and operated a business, Vinson Upholstery, showcasing his craftsmanship and creativity.
Billy's life was firmly rooted in his faith, a devoted Christian throughout his years, he was a proud member of the Global Methodist Church. His generosity, kindness, and unwavering spirit of service inspired everyone he met. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, share a kind word, or light up the room with his infectious laughter.
Above all, Billy cherished his family and friends. His warmth, humor, and steadfast love created a legacy that will endure in the hearts of all who knew him. Whether it was through his joyful laugh or his gentle acts of kindness, Billy had a way of making everyone feel valued and cared for.
Billy Vinson's life was a testament to faith, love, and service. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion and love that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Grace Vinson; Parents, James and Merle Vinson; Brothers Eugene Vinson, Houston Vinson, and sister Rachel McNatt.
Survivors include his children Angela White (Joel), son, Darrell Vinson (Rae); grandchildren, Zoe Lewis, Evan Vinson, Dillon Vinson; his sisters Donnie Lou Williamson, Judy Jackson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held from 11:30am until a Funeral Service begins at 12:30pm Wednesday May 14, 2025, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Reverend Bobby Ellisor officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL.
