Obituary

Robert "Bob" James Burns, Jr., 77, was born on May 8, 1946, and passed away at home on Saturday, August 26, 2023.

Bob lived in Pensacola from the age of 16 and graduated from Pensacola High School in 1965. He later served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He met his wife, Carol, in Houston, TX where they married prior to settling in Pensacola, FL and raising their two daughters. Bob worked as a carpenter and was always willing to lend a hand to a friend.

He enjoyed listening to rock and blues music while beaching and barbequing with friends and family. Bob faced multiple years of medical issues with courage and strength in the same manner he had always handled life's challenges. He was a loving and humble man with a contagious laugh. He is considered a local legend by many and will be forever missed.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Cicely Burns; as well as his son, Jeremy Cadle.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Burns; two daughters, Amanda Burns and Melody Knutson; grandchildren, Ava and Audric; as well as his brothers, Chris and Pat Burns.

Bob will be honored with a Celebration of Life from 2-4pm Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the Handlebar, 319 N. Tarragona St., Pensacola, FL 32501.
