Bobby McCrary, 86, of Escambia County passed away on February 2, 2018. He was born on April 9, 1931 in Edgewater, AL, the son of a coal miner, Graydon and Gertrude Woods McCrary. He spent his young adult years in Edgewater, graduating from Minor High School and soon after joined the US Air Force serving as an Aerial Photographer on a B36 during the Korean War. Bobby shared many tales of his adventures on the B36. He learned the art of Bee Keeping as a child from his grandfather in the surrounding hills of Birmingham. He would later in life take up this special hobby, spending the last 30 years as a Bee Keeper, sharing his bounty with his friends and family. Upon his retirement he spent many hours working his bees and going to his cabin in the woods sharing fellowship with his family and friends. He enjoyed his time in the outdoors, being in the woods with his grandsons and hunting buddies watching the turkeys dust in the sand or a deer with her fawn enjoying the morning dew.

Bobby was always committed to his faith serving as Athletic Director for many years at Little Flower Catholic School. After his marriage to Patricia they moved across town and joined the Nativity of Our Holy Lord Church during which he seldom missed a service unless he was out of town or at his cabin in the woods.
