Obituary

Bobbye Jean Hall Coville, born June 27, 1933, to John Wesley and Dora Lee Hall, joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 2, 2017 due to complications of a stroke.

She was predeceased by Colonel (Full Bird, Ret.) Alan Coville, who died on May 01, 1987. Alan was the one and only love of her life; she spoke of him often always remembering him with the utmost affection until the day she was called home. They met at Jack Lee Buick Beauty Pageant in Panama City, FL in June of 1953 (she had the gams of an impala and was a true beauty queen!) and were married 6 weeks later.

She was also predeceased by her siblings: Samuel Hall, Laura McGowan, Pete Hall, Nancy Whitehead, Benjamin Hall, Cecil Hall, Helena Goyer, Betty King, and Carlton Hall.

Survivors include her four daughters and sons-in-law: Cynthia Coville Carlson (David), Dora Coville Olson (Walter "Chip"), Evelyn Coville Bradley (John) and Felicia Coville Sturgis (Joel). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Scott, Anna, Eric, Keane, Ian, Jill, Seth, Alan, Stuart and Greg. She had a host of great-grandchildren: Kyle and Katie Carlson, Kevin, Ryan and Nathan Murray, Jayden and Jacob Pranckevicus, and Landon Bradley.

Mom had wonderful life and would constantly say so. As a military wife, she packed up and moved her family with strength, poise and resolve whenever The Colonel was reassigned: Eglin AFB, FL, Alexandria, LA, Paris, France, Nellis AFB, NV, The Air Force Academy, CO, Cranwell AFB, England, Mulvane, KS, Falls Church, VA and Kaneohe, HI. Her final move, upon Dad's retirement, was Pensacola, FL. Making a new home in these foreign and domestic locales, Mom and Dad always made an extra effort to expose us girls to the countries and cultures around us. We often vacationed in wonderful places too numerous to mention. Let it suffice to say we had a well-traveled and exciting childhood! (It must be noted - we've all kissed the Blarney Stone!)

Mom graduated from Bonifay High School where she was an excellent student and cheerleader. She attended many of her high school reunions,

speaking fondly of her long-time friends with whom she kept in touch until her passing.

She was the ultimate hostess. She loved a party and welcomed each and all comers into her home for a celebration and any occasion would suffice! A Redskins or Saints game (to which she pledged great fandom) was reason enough! She was an avid football fan and went through "withdrawals" during the off-season. She loved Farkle, a dice game which we all enjoyed and which was a staple in the evenings. All children, grandchildren and a multitude of friends have learned and played Farkle with Mom.

Mom was also a "Madame Bijou Fashionista" - she kept her beautiful figure even after a series of back surgeries, which made it difficult for her to be as active as she had been in the past. Her appearance was impeccable and she always coordinated her clothing and jewelry. She was mistaken for Lana Turner on numerous occasions during her travels, which made us feel like we were travelling with a celebrity! Of course, she never pretended to be anyone but herself.

Mom grew up with a work ethic that made her hard to keep up with! She was an excellent cook, gardener, seamstress and needle worker. We teased her that she had 3 green thumbs! She could literally turn a sow's ear into a silk purse regardless of the circumstance and often with limited resources at hand. She was a mentor to many, and was a happy, positive and beautiful woman.

We must also say something about Mom's relationship to her Savior, Jesus Christ. Her born again experience came in 1971 through an event called a "Faith Alive" weekend when she came to realize that Christianity was not just going to church but a relationship with the risen Jesus. Our lives are all different because she prayed consistently for each of us. She was a woman of faith and Christian values and an example to all of us.

She taught us and everyone who knew her, what it meant to truly love, and we will miss her until we're all united in Heaven. Until then, our beloved matriarch, rest in peace and serenity.
