Boncile Roberson Searcy, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the age of 93. She was born in Pensacola, FL on December 22, 1923, the third of seven children of Margaret Moye Roberson and Franklin Pierce Roberson. In 1942 she married Alvin Parks Searcy who was from Lake Lure, NC and was a young soldier stationed at Ft. Barrancas when they met. As a military wife she lived in various parts of the country until his 23 years in the Air Force ended with retirement back to her hometown. They were married for fifty years prior to his death in 1992.
She was a kind woman of faith, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, a loyal friend and was loved by all whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her brother, Dill (Maxine) Roberson of Pensacola and her four children; Fay Wilson of Marrero, LA., Diane (John) Keith of Pensacola, Alvis (Laura) Searcy of Smyrna, GA. and Annette (William) LeCount of Rockwall, TX.
Also surviving are six grandchildren; Missy (Randy) Lepine of Marrero LA., Jason Keith of Panama City Beach, FL., Brian (Tiffany) Searcy of Alpharetta GA., Kevin (Laura) Searcy of San Francisco, CA, Kristen (Brent) Jerome of Columbia, SC., Derek Barnes of Baton Rouge, LA, and three great granddaughters, Kelsey Barnes, Eleanor Jerome and Reagan Searcy.
Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Monday, July 31, 2017 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel 2276 Airport Blvd., Pensacola. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 8:30am Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, 19 N. Palafox St. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to those she considered her "daughters also" who visited her, loved her and brought much joy to her life over the years; Vonda Phetteplace, Mary Jernigan, Carolyn Carpenter, Carol Anger and Betty Huybreghts as well as the staff of The Haven of Our Lady of Peace where she had
resided for the past year. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation
to Father Joseph Callipare for his spiritual guidance and for being a comforting blessing for our mother and our entire family.
