IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Brenda Marie
Bromen
September 7, 1970 – August 27, 2017
Brenda Bromen, 46, peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017 after a long battle with cancer which she faced with dignity, bravery, and grace.
Brenda was born in Spooner, WI but raised in Superior, WI. She graduated from Superior High School in 1988 and completed a degree in Information Technology at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College in Superior, WI. She married Pete in 1991 and was a proud Air Force wife for over 22 years, serving in numerous locations until Pete retired from active duty in Pensacola, FL. Brenda was most proud of being a "Mom" to Jeffrey and Nicholas and she took great joy in seeing them grow into adulthood. She was also a skilled and creative crafter. She created beautiful cards, quilts, and scrapbooks but her real passion was knitting. She made incredible hats, scarves, shawls, sweaters, and socks and loved to share her knitting skills with others. Brenda touched so many lives and will be deeply missed. Her final gift to this world was herself as she selflessly donated her body for scientific research in the hope one day curing cancer so that others could be spared.
Brenda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Pat & Helge Helquist and George & Mariane Harstad.
Survivors include her loving husband, Peter Bromen, of Pensacola FL; sons, Jeffrey and Nicholas Bromen of Pensacola FL; parents, Gordy and Judi Herbranson of Gordon, WI; biological mother, Roberta Horgen (Al) of Minong, WI; sister, Debbie Crooker (David) of Rosemount, MN; sister, Keely Lightburn (Joe) of Maiden Rock, WI; brother, Dan Horgen of Minong WI.
Memorial Service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Gordon Pines Golf Club, 6809 E. Fire Hill Rd., Gordon, WI, 54838.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Metavivor, Metastatic Breast Cancer Research and Support, 1783 Forest Dr., #184, Annapolis, MD 21401. ( www.metavivor.org )
