Brenda J. Stewart, of Pensacola, FL passed away peacefully at the age of 83, on Friday, May 29, 2026.
Brenda was born on November 26, 1942, in Houston, TX to Sarah Ruth (Young) and Horace Kelley Prichard. She was a deeply devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is best defined by her strength and commitment to the people she loved. Always private about her early years and would rarely comment at all despite many efforts to get a glimpse into her childhood. Her story as we know it began in 1958 when she married Robert E Stewart. He was committed to a career in the US Navy. She anchored the family during his many overseas deployments.
When the three boys became young adults, she pursued other passions. She was most proud as a volunteer teacher assistant at Sherwood Elementary school. She was happy and proudly talked about those kids as if they were her own. Brenda enjoyed sewing and had a loyal clientele as a seamstress.
She has left behind a legacy of unconditional love not only to her family, but also to many friends.
Brenda is survived by her three sons, Kent, Karl, and Keith Stewart; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will begin at 10:30am, Monday, June 15, 2026, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Fred Zobel officiating. A Committal Service will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
