Obituary

Bruce Arthur Willey, 88 of Pensacola, FL passed peacefully from this life to his eternal home on Friday, August 15, 2025.

He was born to Arthur and Blanche Willey in Littleton, NH on June 5, 1937. After graduating from Littleton High School, he enlisted in the US Navy.  After his military service, he settled in Pensacola where he served as a volunteer firefighter and worked various jobs before beginning his 27-year career as a Greyhound bus driver. After retiring from Greyhound Bus Lines, he acquired a job at Evergreen Transportation where he retired after 22 years. From both companies he received many safety awards, the most prestigious being the Two Million Accident-Free award.

He was a devoted member of both Cantonment #322 and Ensley #278 Masonic Lodges, Scottish Rite, and York Rite Masonic Bodies, and Hadji Shrine. As a member of the Shrine, he selflessly devoted his time to transport children to the Shriners Children's hospitals in Tampa, FL and Galveston, TX. He was honored to serve as Worthy Patron of Cantonment Chapter #267 and Ensley Chapter #244 Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to these Masonic affiliations, he gave many years of service to Marvelous Assembly #101, IORG as a board member and as chairman of the Board. For his years of faithful service, he received the Grand Cross of Color from the Supreme Assembly of IORG.

He was a loving husband to Cheerie who would tell you that he was her rock. He was a devoted father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Blanche Willey and his sisters, Rebecca Gerath and Margaret "Peggy" Ryan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Cheerie; daughter, Barbara Chilcutt (Kevin); sons, Dr. Lowell Bragg (Felicia), Craig Willey (Marina), Tim Bragg (Natalie), Kenneth Willey (Nicole); daughter, Cheryl Tuller (Dustin); grandchildren, Ryan Chilcutt (Kara),Travis Chilcutt, Alexander Chilcutt (Logan), Hunter Chilcutt, Grant Chilcutt, Peyton  Chenault, Zachariah Bragg, Brodie Bragg, Cuyler Snyder, Michelle Willey, Nadine Willey, Chris Larson, Timothy Bragg,  Brandon Bragg, Nicholas Willey, Dillyn Tuller (Emily), Dammyn Tuller,  Katherine Bonifay, Zach Tuller, Lexi Tuller, Haleigh Tuller; great-grandchildren, Jane Chilcutt, Cameron Larson, Hayleigh Larson, Mercedes Bragg, and Raylee Bragg.

Visitation will be held 10:30am until a Celebration of Life and Masonic and Eastern Star service begins at 11:30am Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Ms. Lynn Smith CLS officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery at 1:00pm.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Ensley Lodge #278 and Cantonment Lodge #322 and members of Ensley Chapter #244 and Jay Chapter #208 OES.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Shriners Children's Hospital, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.

The family would like to send a special thanks to Mr. Willey's care giver, Rahiem "Bishop" Thomas and to People's Hospice for the special care and support during his illness.
