Buford R. Creel, a devoted husband, father, and esteemed community member, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026, at his home in Molino, FL. Born on May 13, 1937, in Pensacola, Buford's life was marked by dedicated service, professional accomplishment, and deep commitment to his family and faith.
Mr. Creel proudly served in the United States Air Force for eight years, an experience that laid the foundation for a distinguished career in government civil service spanning 26 years at the Pensacola Naval Air Station. Beginning as an electronics worker, he advanced through positions of increasing responsibility, including roles in the Aeronautical Engineering Department and Aircraft Planning and Control, where he coordinated aircraft work for the Air Force, Army, and Coast Guard. Among his notable appointments, Buford served as head of Avionics, head of Dynamic Components Production and Planning at the Naval Aviation Depot Pensacola, and ultimately as Director of Business Development before his retirement.
Beyond his professional achievements, Buford was deeply invested in his community and church. He dedicated himself to spiritual leadership as Director of the Senior Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church of Pensacola, where he also served as Social Chairman and Greeter. His love for the outdoors was expressed through his enthusiasm for fishing, hunting, and diving, pursuits that brought him joy and relaxation throughout his life.
Buford's academic credentials include an associate's degree, reflecting his commitment to lifelong learning and excellence. He was known for loving his wife and family tremendously, a sentiment that underscores the warmth and strength of his personal relationships.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Beulah Creel; daughters Tina Pagan and Teri Dillashaw; and grandchildren Noah and Tyler. Additionally, numerous nieces and nephews remain part of his extended family circle. Buford was preceded in death by his parents, John and Esque Creel, and his brother, John Creel, Jr.
Funeral Services to honor Buford R. Creel will be held 11:30am Thursday, April 30, 2026, at the Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd, Pensacola, FL 32504. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, 1 Cemetery Rd, Pensacola, FL 32508.
Buford R. Creel’s legacy is marked by his professional dedication, faithful service, and deep devotion to his family and community. He will be remembered with respect and gratitude by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
