Obituary

Cameron Fisher Smith, 88, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2023.

Cameron was born and raised in Pensacola, daughter of Dr. Luther C. and Genevieve Fisher. She grew up on Bayou Texar participating in many activities like water skiing and sailing. She attended Vanderbilt University where she met her future husband and joined the Kappa Delta Sorority remaining an active alumna all her life. She was an avid bridge player. She and her husband were long time members of the Pensacola Yacht Club and traveled to many places by sea on their sailboat and by land in their camper. She also took many tours of the Bahamas on her father ' s cabin cruiser. She volunteered her time to many worthy organizations such as the Junior League of Pensacola, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Rape Crisis Center.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charles F. Smith, Jr. and a son, Scott Smith.

Cameron leaves behind her children, Melanie (Keith) White, Stuart (Tammy) Smith, and Fisher (Cristy) Smith; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

At her request, burial services will be private, and a Celebration of Life will be held 4:00pm-6:00pm Saturday, February 11, 2023, at the Pensacola Yacht Club.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice or to the ARC Gateway of Pensacola.

The family would also like to thank the staff at The Haven of our Lady of Peace, West Florida Hospital and Baptist Hospital for their support and compassion.
