Msgt, Carlton Larrell Christian, USAF, Ret., 68, of Panama City, FL, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021.
Carlton Christian was born in Richmond, Virginia. He graduated from Maggie L. Walker High School in 1971. He joined the military shortly after in 1972. He served for 23 years in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1995. Following his retirement, Carlton continued to work in his place of retirement, Panama City, FL. He worked in many places and was very proud of his work experience. Carlton worked as a former dispatcher for the Panama City Beach Police Department, a former Data Administrator at Eastern Industries, and worked for many years as Retail Loss Prevention at Sears. Carlton's final place of employment was at Early Education and Care, INC. (EEC). Carlton retired from EEC in September 2020, leaving a huge mark on the company with his incredible personality and love for all. Carlton was a talented musician. He was known as the "Piano man". Carlton brought his talents and love for music everywhere he went. Carlton also shared his talents in his church community. He was a proud member of Liberty Baptist Church and served as a music minister. Carlton enjoyed many hobbies including spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved movies, breakfast on Saturday mornings, and never missed a Seabreeze Jazz Festival. Carlton was a beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather, coworker, and a great friend to so many. His smile and contagious laughter will be missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Claudette Anna Christian
Carlton is survived by his son, Demond Christian (Brandi), of Atlanta, GA; daughters, Cherelle Christian, of Atlanta, GA, Ley-Ra Mavity (Jonathan), of Las Vegas, NV and Jade Christian, of Pensacola, FL; son, Christopher Christian, of Panama City, Florida; grandchildren, Dionna, Tanzania, Thomas, Amani, Elijah, Nathan, and Destini Christian, all of Atlanta, GA,
Ethan and Camryn Mavity, of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Lynette, Margaret, Leann, and Emma and brother, Fred Christian.
Visitation will be held 10:30 am until the funeral service begins at 11:30 am Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Harper Morris Memorial Chapel, Pensacola, FL with Pastor Anthony Pilot and Pastor Glenn Milner, officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL.
Special thanks to the PCU and ICU nurses and doctors at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Panama City, FL for caring for our beloved Carlton to his last day.
To all of Dad's dearest friends near and far, thank you for loving him and cherishing his friendship for many years.
