Carol Ann Clancy, 82, of Pensacola, formally of Fairhope, Tucson, Telluride, Denver, San Francisco, Chicago, New York and Connecticut, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020, in Pensacola, FL.
Carol Ann was born in St. Paul, Minnesota to the late John and Catherine Weisman Drexler on March 5, 1938. She attended Visitation Primary and College Prep, then went on to Dominican College outside of Chicago where she met the love of her life Tom Clancy. After receiving her degree, Carol traveled and lived all over the United States with her husband and family. She was a successful educator, amazing mother to her four children, and an award winning realtor. During her lifetime Carol was a competitive athlete. She played tennis, golf, enjoyed time on the water boating and sailing. She took up figure skating with her children and was an avid skier. Among her athletic achievements, Carol had four "hole in one" golf awards. She was a member of the Woman's Athletic Club of Chicago, Glenwood Country Club, The California Club, The St. Francis Yacht Club, Rock Creek Golf Club, Lakewood Golf Club and The Royal Palm Golf Club. Golf was a serious passion for Carol.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Drexler, Bill Drexler and brother-in-law, Jim O'Neill.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Tom Clancy; sons, Tom Clancy, Jr. (Celine) and John Clancy (Keiko); daughters, Erin Lowsley-Williams (Mig) and Tara McLean (Hardin); a sister, Joan O'Neill; grandchildren, Bridget Clancy, Rose Clancy, Liam Lowsley-Williams, Donal Lowsley-Williams, Jack McLean and Caroline McLean.
Private family services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Memphis, TN.
The family would like to thank Azalea Trace, Pensacola EMT's and West Florida Hospital.
