Fleddermann
October 20, 1923 – February 22, 2021
Carol Fleddermann, a long-time resident of Pensacola, passed away on Feb. 22, 2021 after a brief illness.
She was the beloved wife of Richard G. Fleddermann and the beloved mother of Richard Fleddermann, Jr.; Charles Fleddermann, and Frances Fleddermann. Carol was a graduate of Loyola University of New Orleans and was one of the first women to graduate from Tulane Law School. She practiced law and taught history before she became a mother in 1952, and remained a member of the Louisiana Bar for over 70 years. Carol devoted herself to her family for many years, seeing her children through college and further education. She was president of the Friends of the Pensacola Library for many years, organizing their annual book sales. She also volunteered at the TT Wentworth, Jr. Florida State Museum in Pensacola and donated several interesting items to them. Carol was a fan of classical music and supported several musical organizations in Pensacola including the Friends of Music at Christ Church, the Music Study Club, and the Pensacola Symphony. She loved knitting and sewing clothes for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved gardening and was awarded prizes for her camelias. Carol attended Saint Paul's Catholic Church. She is survived by her loving children, seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30am Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at St. Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Jack Campbell, celebrant. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the TT Wentworth, Jr. Florida State Museum, 330 S Jefferson St, Pensacola, FL 32502.
