Carol Nathan O'Brien, 70, passed away in her home in Pensacola on July 1, 2015. She was born on January 11, 1945 in Pensacola, FL. In her many years as a social worker in Pensacola, Carol helped countless families as a grief counselor, and then went on to assist the elderly of Northwest Florida until she retired in 2014. She was known to go out of her way to help her clients, one of them going so far as to write a letter to President Obama commending her skill and tireless effort in helping her clients obtain the resources they needed to live a full life. Carol herself lived a full life, with a passion for cooking and wine and talking the ear off of any friend or family member that would pick up the phone. She will be dearly missed by her three children; Laurie Jaro (Jon) of San Diego, CA, Jennie Griffin (Rob) of Pittsburgh, PA and MSGT Fordham Terrill (Leah) of San Antonio, TX and ten grandchildren. A Rosary will be prayed at 3:00pm Sunday, July 5, 2015 with visitation continuing until 5:00pm at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Monday, July 6, 2015 at St. Paul Catholic Church, with Fr. Doug Halsema, celebrant. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida, 1815 N. 6th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32503. www.ccnwfl.org
