IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol Marie
Overby
January 16, 1944 – June 30, 2024
Carol Marie (Selander) Overby, 80, of Gulf Breeze, FL passed away peacefully at home on June 30, 2024, at 2:00pm surrounded by her family. Diagnosed with an inoperable and untreatable cancer on May 21, 2024, the day of her 58th wedding anniversary, it quickly metastasized to her lungs and other parts of her body. All immediate family members were able to fly in from throughout the US to say their final goodbyes.
Carol lived a very full life. She loved working in her garden, playing ball with her beloved Bailey, traveling around the United States with her husband to visit family and friends, mending loved one's clothes when they had a hole, playing challenging games on her phone, collecting antiques and family pictures, golfing when weather wasn't too hot in Georgia and Florida, and shopping around town with her daughter Teri. She was kind and thoughtful to everyone she met and loved her family dearly. She was truly an angel on earth and will be deeply missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know and love her.
Carol is preceded in death by her mother, Marie (Rosch) Selander; father, Carl Selander; sister, Sharon Borrell; and brother, Rodger Selander.
As Carol moves into Heaven and God's hands, she leaves behind her husband, Allen Overby; son, Mark Allen Overby (Rachel Tan Overby); daughter, Teri Overby Burt (Michael Burt); as well as grandchildren, Carson Allen Overby and Kedron Isabella Burt.
Carol's ashes will be held until her husband Allen passes, at which time a Celebration of Life party will be held for both in Gulf Breeze, FL at a date to be determined. Both Carol and Allen will then be placed to rest in the Overby Family plot in the Lanesboro, MN cemetery with a service there for family and friends.
We would like to thank the many family members and friends who prayed for her and offered their support and best wishes. We would also like to thank the entire team at People's Hospice and Palliative Care of Gulf Breeze, but especially Mary Sue Walker, who was wonderful in providing such loving care to our wife, Mother, and Nana. Additionally, we would like to thank Jan Johnson of Emerald Coast Hospice for her unwavering support through this difficult journey.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite pet rescue.
