Carolyn E. Ongalo, 57, resident of Pensacola, FL passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019.

She was born on August 9, 1962 in Bakersfield, CA to Elaine Chamberlin and Bobby Durham. She was always a straight "A" student that enjoyed cheerleading and music. Her life was radically transformed on New Year's Eve 1982 when she became a follower of Christ. In Oregon, she attended Multnomah University to study the Bible and Missions. In February of 1983 she met Scott Ongalo and in 1984 on August 25th, married the man of her dreams. Scott and Carolyn have two children, Nicole and McKenzie. In July of 1999, the Ongalos moved across the country to Pensacola, FL to attend Bible School. Carolyn was an integral part of Upward Church by leading the Intercessory Prayer Team. She spent her days in the Word and in Worship. She lived a life of loving God, her family and serving others. Carolyn loved spending hours in her garden, swimming in the pool, drinking tea with her friends, and helping raise her grandson Daven.

She is preceded in death by her dad, Frank Chamberlin.

Survivors include her loving husband, Scott Ongalo; her daughters, Nicole Young (Stephen) and McKenzie Bowman (Jon); her mother, Elaine Chamberlin; grandson, Daven; her sisters, Melanie Villars and Denise Morehouse.

Visitation will be held 11:00am – 1:00pm Friday, August 16, 2019 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd., Pensacola, FL, followed by a Private Family Burial at Elizabeth Chapel Cemetery. Carolyn's Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Upward Church, 9859 N. Davis Hwy., Pensacola, FL, with Rev. Craig Walker officiating.
