CDR Walter John Gordon, USN (ret.), 76, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2023.

Walt was born in New York, NY to the late Walter and Eleanor Gordon. He proudly served his country in the US Navy traveling the world during his career. Walt settled in Pensacola upon his retirement from the Navy, finding great enjoyment in the local area, a second career with the school district, his art, and his friends.

Walt was a beloved husband, father, brother and artist and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, of 46 years, Carol Gordon; his two adult children, Derek and Melissa; as well as his sister, Patricia.

A graveside service will be held 10:30am Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Barrancas National Cemetery, NAS Pensacola, with Military Honors. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at 9:30am at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd, Pensacola, FL 32504.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
