Obituary

CDR Marilyn K. Bingham, USN (Ret.), age 77, of Cheyenne, WY, previously of Pensacola, FL passed away on March 4, 2025. Marilyn was born in Sterling, C.O. to the late Mario and Marguerite DeSoto Marostica. She graduated from Sterling High in 1965 and then went on to attend Beth-El School of Nursing, in Colorado Springs. Marilyn joined the US Navy on February 6, 1970, as a Nurse, where she proudly served her country until her retirement on January 1, 1991, at the rank of Commander.

Marilyn was an active member of the local catholic church, wherever she was stationed. Over the years she enjoyed cooking, spending time outside and working in her garden. She loved playing with her grand dog, Georgie the Corgi, and spending time with her family. Nursing was truly in her nature, she was always helping family and friends, giving advice and tending to their needs, such as driving them to doctors' appointments, house sitting, pet sitting, or being there as someone to talk to.

In her retirement Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her family and friends dining out and going on short trips with her sister Francene. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Bingham; and her step-father, George Mansuetti.

Those left to cherish her memory include, her two sons, Mark Bingham (Ellen) and Matthew Bingham (Veronica); a sister, Francene Simpson; a nephew, Jim Simpson (Gretchen); grandchildren, Abigail Bingham, Andrew Bingham, Alivia Bingham, Amelia Bingham, Aaron Bingham; uncle; Don DeSoto; aunt Mary Marostica; and numerous cousins.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Marilyns friends and neighbors in Cheyenne, WY; Ray & Diann Garcia, Brett & Kandi Wilson and Mary Jo Rotter for their support and for the love and friendship they have shown to Marilyn over the years.
