Charles Henry Hughes, of Pensacola, FL passed away the 13th of February 2014. He was born 21 April 1945 in Manning, AR to Corene and the late Troy Hughes Senior of Malvern, AR. Charles graduated from George Washington Carver High School, Moro, AR in 1963 and the Arkansas Barber School in Little Rock, AR in 1964 where he worked as a licensed barber until joining the USAF in 1965. He served proudly and honorably for 29 years attaining the highest enlisted rank of E-9, retiring as the senior enlisted advisor for the 323d Flying Training wing. He is preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Fay and Mary Hughes and a brother, Ronald Hughes. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 37 years, Yukie Hughes; son, Richard Leon Hughes; daughter, Bonnie Faye Hughes and granddaughter, Mia Hughes-Keanon of Pensacola, FL. He is also survived by two sisters, Loraine Nelson (Carl), of Little Rock, AR, Maxine Smith of Arkadelphia, AR; eight brothers, Stephen Hughes (Vivian) of Pensacola FL, Troy Hughes, Jr. (Virginia), Donnie Hughes (Brenda) of Malvern, AR, James Hughes (Cassandra), Patrick Hughes (Cindy), Samuel Hughes (Vonda) of Little Rock, AR, David Hughes of Hot Springs, AR and Andrew Hughes of Dallas TX; two aunts, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held Sunday, the 23rd of February 2014 from 5-7pm at Harper- Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be Monday, the 24th of February at 11:00am at Harper- Morris Memorial Chapel 2276 Airport Blvd, Pensacola, FL 32504. His internment will be at the Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola Naval Air Station at 12:30pm with full military honors.
